Islam’s work comments on the tense reality of rape victims, mirroring the inner turmoil women face after getting sexually assaulted. She fiercely uses the repetitive form of human finger to create a sense of “touch”, perhaps against the human body endorsed with scribbled hair-like structures,
symbolizing a repetitive loop of endless trauma. The artist hopes to break boundaries within society and the art world whilst helping raise awareness to end the silence about rape, to understand and take care of the victims with compassion.
