Khalid’s work is a photo-etching inspired by her childhood nursery rhyme, “Ring around the Rosie”. Upon researching about the rhyme, she was fascinated by learning about the subliminal connotations rooted into its history. She learned that it could have originated from the Great Plague, served as a manipulation for young children where adults are luring and hushing them so they don’t speak up against the abuse.
