Through her work, Barana Saadat explores “happiness” and “sadness,” as disparate, mutually exclusive concepts. She draws on her emotional responses to the ambiguity surrounding “truth” in our current global reality - a reality in which the “untrue” is often depicted as real - to understand our basic human responses to positive and negative happenings. Her representational imagery and unexpected color choices help reiterate her conceptual concerns as an artist. Barana, who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, has been passionate about art from an early age, and started studying and practising art in 2000. She currently lives and works in Iran, and has exhibited her work internationally, including in the U.K. and Germany.
